With over 30 years' experience of touring issue-based shows to community audiences, Banner has a long record of delivering high quality productions that challenge prejudice and encourage action.
"An inspiration - proves the power of the arts to reinforce morale and create a culture of progress" - Tony Benn
"Having seen Banner's work before I knew they would be professional, challenging and thought-provoking" - Arts Development Officer, Barnsley
"Fantastic: everyone should see it. The real stories are really shocking, more shocking than I realised the real situation was" - Youth Manager, Cornwall
"I cannot imagine a better way to express what is happening in the world through performance" - NHS Health Trainer, Rotherham
Banner Theatre's new multimedia show looks at the world of work and migration in the context of the global economic downturn. Using in-depth video interviews, digital media and original new music and song, Share the Same Sky, weaves together the stories of three visitors to Britain:
- From Afghanistan, Ali fled the Taliban, who murdered his brother, and come to Britain in search of safety.
- From Poland, where unemployment has been spiralling, Natalia has come to Britain in search of work.
- From Venezuela, Edenis visits Britain and compares life in Britain with the popular revolutionary changes taking place in his home country.
